Moon Walker is the musical brainchild of Brooklyn's Harry Springer. The project began at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown as a side hustle selling original songs to music libraries but rapidly evolved into something much larger. A unique blend of 70s psychedelia and contemporary grunge, the Moon Walker sound is an imaginative new take on rock 'n roll. Springer's debut album Truth to Power found a fast fanbase on TikTok and received praise from established artists such as The Darkness' Justin Hawkins. 2022's sophomore LP The Attack of Mirrors sent the artist further into the spotlight as one of the most intriguing rock newcomers of recent years. Catch Moon Walker live at one of his U.S. tour dates this fall with support from Nordista Freeze.
"Give The People What They Want" dropped on August 31, 2023, and is the fourth in a string of singles off of upcoming third album Apocalypticism (set for release on October 20, 2023).
Moon Walker turns up the heat with this fiery anthem. Funky, fuzzed-out bass and guitars make "Give The People What They Want" a full-bodied production, while sections with only drums and vocals create dynamic range. As it descends, the main chord progression settles into a hauntingly groovy energy. The track's instrumentals are raw and gritty in the best way. Harmonies and doubled vocals deliver melodious yet jaded social commentary, evolving into impassioned wails that accompany a guitar solo. The single certainly brings the wow-factor, but it also addresses major issues within modern society, such as excessive consumerism and manipulation.
