"The Call" is the second single off the group's upcoming album Dorothy, which is set to release later this year. Its hypnotic instrumentals and lulling vocal harmonies are a siren song to anyone feeling stuck in a dead-end job, away from dreams and desires. The track opens with an airy synth and gentle acoustic guitar strumming. Vocals and a rhythm section join the mix in the verse, in which frontwoman Olivia Rose straddles the thin line between fantasy and reality. "If I don’t take it, the call / I missed it all / counting on weekends to follow what calls to me / I’ve got a fire burning are walls crumbling down?"

"If I don’t take it, the call / I missed it all / counting on weekends to follow what calls to me / I’ve got a fire burning are walls crumbling down?"

While each part of the single brings something fresh, the lyrically straightforward hook stands out as the highlight. The dynamic draws back into an intimate introspective arpeggiation before exploding outward. Layered harmonies and vocal tracks float in and out of the soundscape. Oh, Rose creates a beautiful push and pull of tension in their arrangement, entrancing fans and leaving them wanting more. Almost too soon, the song fades away as the listener savors its final seconds.

"If I don’t make it out alive I’ll fall asleep and I’ll / dream, dream"

As a whole, "The Call" feels like the perfect dreamy indie anthem to chase the June gloom away. Its emotive vocal performance, hopeful lyrics, and masterful instrumentation make it a standout track for the summer and hint at the exciting things to come from Oh, Rose in the coming months.
